On 20th November 2013, FuturMaster had the pleasure of sponsoring the Global Consumer Supply Chain Officer Summit in Shanghai.  The summit theme was ‘Next Generation Supply Chains’ and was attended by supply chain leaders from a large range of industries, including apparel, food and beverage, retail and many more.

In today’s world, the consumer goods industry is undoubtedly facing some of the greatest challenges concerning supply chain management complexity.  Indeed, with shorter product life cycles, faster changes in consumer behaviour and increasingly fierce market competition, the pressure to meet customer expectations is higher than ever.  These changes require the consumer goods industry to develop the ability to optimise their supply chains in order to get the right product, at the right place, at the right time and avoid any possible waste.  Therefore a demand driven supply chain based on effective demand planning and successful sales and operations planning is vital to achieve supply chain competitiveness.

FuturMaster’s CEO and co-founder Dr. Bo Zhou delivered the keynote presentation at the conference and not only discussed the challenges associated with promotions and new product launches, but also presented how we can leverage sales and operations planning to better cope with their future impacts.  Throughout the conference, there was an extremely positive response to this topic with active discussions taking place.

Women in Supply Chain

Every year we celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March. With many countries making it an official holiday, the meaning of the day has somewhat shifted from celebrating the social awareness of the struggles of women to praising all females for just being a woman.
